The GOP now has the power to pass laws in Congress. The Senate, whose majority is Democrat, could reject them, which could be seen by the electorate as a will to paralyze the US. An approach that could create even greater momentum for the GOP candidate in 2024.
On the other hand, if the Senate is conciliatory, the Democrats could not claim their difference and disagreement. This would make them non-existent…politically.
