By sending Macron to the Elysée Palace without giving him a majority in the assembly, the French have expressed their desire to regain their sovereignty that has been neglected for too long by those in power, and to remind their elected representatives, as well as a European Commission too far from their daily concerns, that they will, from now on, have to reckon with them.
That the people are sovereign above all.
